making space to play

CRYSP DC began as a neighborhood-inspired vision for playing fields, walking/biking trails, an outdoor farmer’s market pavilion, river access and other amenities in the north lots of the RFK Stadium complex. This vision addressed a key lack of field space that left teams packed like sardines into the few spaces that are available nearby Kingman Park, Rosedale, Carver/Langston, and Capitol Hill. As a result of our advocacy, The Fields at RFK Campus opened in May 2019. CRYSP DC made a bid to be the field operator, and was awarded the contract.

Our organization has grown and our partners include a host of youth and adult sports organizations that are based in DC along with other civic and environmental organizations and leaders. As this important project comes to fruition, CRYSP is shifting into several new areas - namely developing access and management strategies that can use the new complex to its maximum extent, and advocating for play space in other areas across DC.

Donate to CRYSP

For its first nine years, CRYSP advocated for field space on Capitol Hill. Now we are the contracted operator of The Fields, which are owned by Events DC. But we haven’t given up our commitment to creating even more play spaces, and to make sports play a central part of life on Capitol Hill, for youth and adults. Your donations can help us realize this vision.
